駅における高齢者のユーザビリティに関する研究その２近年、鉄道事業者において駅は「鉄道事業としての駅」 と「生活サービス事業としての駅」という２つの観点か ら総合的に開発が進められている。しかし、機能性が優 先され、駅に使いやすさという視点が十分行き届いてい ないのが現状である。 駅利用において、駅をトータルなシステムとしてより 使いやすいものにするためには、ユーザの行動特性を理 解し、ユーザの特性に適合した駅のデザインを行うこと が必要である。特に、高齢者においては、認知的加齢の 影響により、若年層、壮年層とは異なった行動パターン を示す可能性があり、彼ら固有のユーザビリティ問題を 生じている可能性がある。そこで本研究では、駅におけ る高齢者のユーザビリティ問題の本質的な原因を解明す るため、バリアフリーのような身体運動的特性ではなく、 人間がどんなことを考えてどのように行動するのかとい った認知的特性に着目し調査研究を行った。 Research on the usability for the elderly in stations ⅡElderly people, influenced by cognitive aging, can behave differently from the younger and are considered to have their own problems in usability. This research has focused on cognitive functions and tried to find the essential reasons to solve their unusability at railway stations. We have already observed typical actions considered to be the effects of cognitive aging. This time, we find the actions of examinees are governed not only by cognitive aging but by station mental models.
